WP Australia and all WordPress meetups in Australia run as volunteer efforts, but that’s not to say that money isn’t needed by the events.
WordPress meetups in Australia are supported through WP Australia, a subcommittee of Linux Australia which aims to support meetups and centralise the funding needed for the events to occur. The funding allows for Venues to be paid for, and covers the cost of Food and Drinks if allowed by the venue.
Organisers are not paid to organise meetups, nor are speakers, all funds are used to directly facilitate the event or towards something that the attendees can use.
Please note: Sponsorship in lieu is not currently accepted, in other words, if your ‘sponsorship’ is a give-away of your products, services or swag, then we’re not interested in advertising your business.
